Sewing Lives Back Together

The Sewing Hope Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization. Our mission is to support Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe and her work in Northern Uganda and South Sudan as she fights to heal the wounds of war—helping women and children rebuild their lives, one stitch at a time.

Meet Sister Rosemary

Sister Rosemary Nyirumbe of the Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus has answered the call to serve the least among us by dedicating her life to those impacted by violent civil wars in Northern Uganda and South Sudan.

For over 30 years, she has defied terror with compassion, providing a safe space for women and children victimized by Joseph Kony and the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA) to heal and reclaim their future. Where others see outcasts, she sees future leaders, artisans, and entrepreneurs.

Handcrafted Symbols of Hope

Your donations directly fund the life-changing training, materials, and education that help women build independent futures. These gifts are their handmade works of art to thank you for your support.

Giving a Voice to the Unheard

The award-winning documentary “Sewing Hope,” narrated by Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker, brings Sister Rosemary’s mission to life. It is an unflinching look at the courage it takes to heal and a testament to the women who refuse to be defined by their past.

We Are Building a Sustainable Future

Our on-the-ground projects in Uganda and South Sudan, global partnerships, educational programs, and more all work together to help communities heal, thrive, and build independent, dignified futures.

Our Projects

Sister Rosemary’s peanut farm, refugee camps for children, Orphan Village, and programs through the Sewing Hope Foundation support healing and independence.

Pros for Africa

Our work is amplified through the Pros for Africa program. Dedicated university students help connect our mission to a global audience and build sustainable change.

Our Partners

We are stronger together. Our mission is made possible by global advocates, local suppliers, and compassionate organizations who share our Foundation’s vision.

Future Goals

Our work is not done! We are expanding to reach more women, build classrooms to teach children, and create opportunities for a future free from shame and fear.
